Money & Life is a brand new film by Katie Teague. It is a must see. Fortunately watching is possible for free, because the producers offer Money & Life to the world in spirit of the Gift. On their website they state:

“With the Creative Commons license we are effectively decriminalizing and inviting sharing of the film. By streaming the film online at no cost and offering the digital download at no cost we are removing the financial barrier to access.  Because the most important thing is that the film enter the flow of peer-to-peer sharing and discourse.”

Great job. Practice what you preach is an ancient wisdom! Some lessons of the movie:

* Our system based on money as debt (with interest) is problematic.
* Economic growth doesn’t express real value.
* Overconsumption by humans is reality. Ecological limits limit the size of our world economy.
 * Money should circulate instead of accumulate.
 * Trickle down economics does not exist.
*Financial sector is not adding value. It does not produce goods and services. It is based on phantom wealth.
* Central Banks have huge influence on countries, but aren’t democratic.

Like the producers I think a better, more social and sustainable, economic system is possible. Rethinking our money is an important step towards such a new economy. The money system can be democratized. It is important for us to remember that money is a social agreement and that we are free to reinvent it.  It is possible. A lot of people are working on it. Be informed. Watch Money & Life.
